Hi, I’m Erica and I have been a multi-subject, mobile and online tutor for the past several years in Austin and San Antonio. My strategies include working to understand the student’s concerns and what they feel like they are having a difficulties comprehending, then I check for any insecurities or anxiety. I approach each session with these things in mind while remaining attentive to any other issues that might arise. I also make sure to be mindful of or assess the learning style(s) of each student, whether they initially know their own or not, and I tailor each session around it or them. I also write problems, give examples, reteach, and use visual aids, acrostics, and even videos as needed. I firmly believe in working on something until the student masters it; we work on that one thing “until” rather than focus on the completion rate, though both are important.
